So now that the big game is over, you’ve seen it all. Considering that there was not much action or excitement on the field for this years Super Bowl; it’s a good thing we had continuous commercials to fill up or afternoon.
Here are my picks for the top 5 commercials of the Super Bowl.
#5 Coca-Cola – Multi-language “It’s Beautiful”
Coca-Cola didn’t play around with this advertisement. Instead of the ever-most popular animated polar bear ad series Coca-Cola went a different route. This ad shows you clips of people from all around the world enjoying this classic beverage. In turn sort of “uniting people over a soft drink”. However this new series of ads Coke made defiantly created quite the controversy. If you read more about this years ads by Coca-Cola you can see the stories and go more in-depth with it. But in my opinion I don’t see that America’s most popular soft drink company did anything wrong.
#4 Budweiser – Puppy Love
If you don’t remember last years game, Budweiser aired a commercial very similar to this ad. That’s why it only hits number four on my list. I feel like this ad is way to similar to the previous years. A young farmer nursed and raised a Clydesdale horse, that he sells to be a Budweiser Clydesdale show horse. If you haven’t seen the ad I strongly recommend you do. But case-in-point, on this ad is Budweiser nearly ripped off their own ad! I’m sure the brewing company saved some bucks here, but at that rate they should have just played last years ad again.
#3 Mtn Dew – KickStart
Mountain Dew really used this commercial to their advantage and appealed to several demographics here. Launching a new line of KickStart beverages, Mountain Dew shows that this Dew has some kick. The focus of the new drink is sort of a nutrient rich, energizing beverage. Jam packing 30 seconds on the big screen, Mountain Dew kicks it up a notch. Composed of young teens and a night on the town, this ad went out with a bang.
#2 Microsoft – Empowering
Microsoft and Apple have battled it out to the death in years past. You probably remember those silly Apple vs. PC commercials from back in the day. But it seems that both parties have eased up a bit on bashing their competitor’s company. This Windows commercial is very powerful and moving. Using the natural sound of mouse clicks and keyboard taps. Along with the computer generated voice narrating the entire ad you really feel connected to Microsoft and their part in helping improve the world.
#1 Esurance – #EsuranceSave30
Taking the top spot on the charts for the best Super Bowl XVLIII commercial, with out a doubt, goes to the Esurance Save 30 ad. This 30 second bit was the first thing to air after the big game. There really wasn’t much to it either, besides a coffee table made out of $1.5 million dollars. And Esurance says it all can be yours if you use the hashtag #EsuranceSave30 on Twitter. Will you win all the loot?
