The annual male beauty contest called Mr. FHN will be held in the
auditorium on Friday, April 4. Hosted by StuCo, the competition will feature several male students who are all hoping to be named Mr. FHN 2014.
“I’ve participated in Mr. FHN for the past three years,” senior Michael Beaver said. “It’s a lot of fun. I play the piano and call myself Mr. Piano Man or Mr. Music.”
To be eligible to participate, each contestant must fundraise a certain amount of money for the charity of their choice. During the contest, all competitors are required to participate in casual wear and formal wear, a question-and-answer segment, and a talent show.
“My favorite part is probably the talent show because some of the guys are actually really good at their talent, or they tell really funny jokes,” junior Taylor Bennett said. “They really put themselves out there in front of a ton of people. It’s a good time.”
Last year’s winner, senior Ali Farhadi, will be among the ranks in hopes of securing his title for another year.
“It’s a really cool experience, and I have a lot of fun doing it,” Farhadi said. “Putting on a show for the crowd is so much fun, and I was really excited when I won last year. It would be awesome to win a second time.”
