It’s only the second month of 2014 and the hottest sneaker of the year already dropped. This past Sunday, Feb. 9, in true Hyperstrike fashion, Nike released the much
anticipated Air Yeezy 2 Red October. Due to Kanye leaving Nike because of issues with royalties, the shoe’s release date was left unknown to the public. The shoe still features the same Yeezy 2 silhouette and the same Horus branding. Unlike its predecessors, the Red Octobers feature an all red upper, midsole and a red glow in the dark sole. The shoe also features a triangular mesh pattern sidewall and a crystallized swoosh rather than the scales the original colorways featured. The shoes are crazy nice, but actually getting your hands on pair for under a $1000 is going to be near impossible. Like the original Yeezy 2s, the Red October’s resale value is ridiculous and reaches the thousands, around $5,000 to $10,000. Overall, the all red shoe is a killer, but with the abundance of fakes and the outrageous prices, I think I’ll stick to some other all red sneakers.
