Seniors that have played sports in High School and that have parents that are members of the Athletic Booster Club in 2013-1014 are eligible for these Scholarships (Not to late to join Booster Club). This is part of the district’s new assessment plan and aligns with the Department of Education in Missouri. There is no cost to students. Contact Dr. Chris Birch if you have any questions. 4/23 Birch 2014 Prom: Prom is on Saturday, May 17that 6:00 p.m. at the St. Charles Convention Center. Prom tickets will be sold on the following dates before school 6:50 a.m.-7:10a.m., during all lunches, and after school from 2:20p.m.-2:45p.m. Students who have fines will not be able to purchase tickets until the fines have been paid. A guest form must be filled out for any guest who does not attend FHN- forms will be available outside room 8 and in the main office. CONGRATULATIONSMy student Courtney Vishy won the Genius Olympiad award during the regional science fair She and I will be going to Oswego, New York in June for the competition. Courtney was the only high school students from our district competing!! Congratulations Courtney *Congratulations are in order! Missouri Girl’s State ~ Lauren Hogan, Allison Miller and Allison Weyhrich were nominated to compete for Girl’s State. Allison Weyhrich will be attending and Lauren Hogan is an alternate. Please congratulate these young women that possess strong leadership, character and citizenship. They represented FHN in an outstanding manner! Allison will be attending Girl’s State this summer! 3/4 Woodrum *American Association of University Women STEMawards go to Courtney Vishy for Science and Rebecca Dorsey for Math. These young women will attend a celebration in their honor! 3/4 Woodrum This past weekend 50 solos and/or ensembles performed at Fort Zumwalt East H.S. from our Band program. I am proud to announce that 39 of our students achieved a Superior Rating and are going to the State in May. This is a new record for FHN and the 7th year in a row we have increased this number! Math Club/Mu Alpha Theta will meet before and after school Tuesday March 4 in room 204. New members welcome. Current members need to attend to hear important information about points. 3/4 Stratton The Francis Howell School District is committed to ensuring that student participants are properly treated for brain injuries/concussions. Students participating in the following sports and activities will complete ImPACT testing: color guard, football, cheerleading,soccer, softball, basketball, winter guard, wrestling, track and field (vaulters and high jumpers only) and baseball. Student athletes will receive the ImPACT neurocognitive assessment prior to initial participation in the aforementioned sports and post-brain injury, if necessary. After a brain injury (concussion), students must be within an acceptable range of their baseline score to return to play. The post-injury score will be reviewed by the District’s contracted sports medicine physician. The student athlete must receive clearance from the sports medicine physician prior to returning to practice and/or competition.
Testing will be on the following dates in room 49.
