Fraufest is the annual school-wide concert put on by the German Club. German teacher and German Club sponsor Anne “Frau” McPartland puts on the show
every year. Many people describe Fraufest as a way to show students talents in a fun way for everyone.
1. What is your name?
Hayden Jensen
2. What is the name of your band?
Capitol Drive
3. How many years have you been involved with Fraufest?
This is my second year as a performer. But as a band it will be our first time.
4. What interested you and your band in performing in Fraufest?
Well I played in it last year and had a really good time. Frau Mcpartland was willing to let us headline, so it was really a no-brainer. Also it’s cool to perform for people I know.
5. Why do you guys like to perform for people?
Well, we really just love giving people fun music to get up and move to. That’s what we really want people to be able to do when they listen to our music. We really like to entertain people while expressing ourselves the best way we can.
6. How did your band start?
It was originally started by Devin Hoffman and Paul Reiger, who played drums and guitar. Soon their friend Nick Keesey joined on bass, then later I was invited to the band as lead guitar and vocals. So for three years now we have just been trying to play as often as we can.
7. What do you think makes your band different from other bands?
When we go out on stage, we really put everything we have into our performance. We go out with full force, running around and rocking out. We never let up until the end.
8. What made you interested in being in a band/ making music?
I have played guitar for almost eight years now, and it was always something I dreamed about doing. Playing music and making a name with some of my best friends. It is just so much fun, I could not resist.
9. What are some songs people can look forward to to seeing in the show or can you describe your bands act?
We are like an alternative rock band sound wise. But we are more on the heavy alternative side. As for songs, I would rather not give away them all, but we will be playing an original song we are very proud of.
10. What do you hope to accomplish in the future?
I hope to put out an album with my band most of all. Then to go on tour to wherever. It really does not matter as long as we have fun doing it.
