This coming Friday, Mar. 7, will be the annual showcasing of musical talent. Fraufest will be held in the auditorium at 6 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the
door and at lunches for $5. This year, there will be about 10 bands performing.
“We just want to perform because it’s a good opportunity to be able to perform in front of other people, and have fun with the other bands,” Minus Me band member Luke Guerdan said.
The event was supposed to be held on Feb. 7, but was postponed until Mar. 7. In order to make a successful Fraufest, a lot of planning has to take place. The German Club began planning for Fraufest three months before the actual event. According to sponsor Anne McPartland, the club hopes that this year’s Fraufest will be just as successful as the previous years.
“Planning ahead is important so that we can get everything together and have a great turn out,” German Club member Vanessa Taylor said.
Some of the bands that will be performing include Capitol Drive and Minus Me. Minus Me will be playing four of their original songs, while Capitol Drive will be performing covers. Taylor and fellow senior Addison Eaker will also be performing. They will be singing Florence and the Machine’s “Shake It Out.”
“I want to go to Fraufest because from going to Fraufest the previous years, I have come to realize how awesome the atmosphere is,” senior Kelly D’Amico said. “Whether you’re into the type of the music or not, it’s still a great way to meet new people and interact with your friends.”
