Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP). Ameis was nominated for this award by his peers and chosen to receive it by a MASSP committee. This is first time that an administrator from FHN has received this award.
“Mr. Ameis is very student-oriented and fair,” Administrative Assistant Arlene Kearns said. “He presents a professional attitude with both staff and students, and [this award] is a way for students to learn what type of person they want to become.”
For receiving this award, Ameis is invited to a banquet hosted by MASSP on April 13 and will be given $500 that will be awarded to a student of his choice as a scholarship.
“I have had the honor and privilege of working with him for 12 years, and I can’t think of anyone who deserves this award more,” MASSP Committee Board Member Ed Gettimeier said.
