Girls Soccer
Sophomore Meghan O’brien’s favorite part of soccer is being with her teammates and growing as a team throughout the season. Meghan plays either forward or defense and her goal for this season is for the team to have a winning record. Meghan is most excited for this season to start so she can start winning and spending time with the team. O’Brien believes that in order to win this year, they need to work together as a team.
Boys Volleyball
Sophomore David Hood is most excited for this season because of all the potential he believes the team has. “I think we have a lot of potential and the fact that we’re all sophomores and get along so well makes it all the better.” David said. David’s favorite part about volleyball is blocking. He has been preparing for high school season in the off-season by playing for the club team High Performance. Last high school season, David struggled with cutting his hits which he has been working extra hard in the off-season at.
Boys Golf
Sophomore Ryan Dickey has been working hard in the off-season preparing for golf by going to the driving range and working on things there. “I’m most excited about getting to play in day long 18 hole tournaments because you get to miss school and I like them a little more than matches,” Ryan said. Ryan’s favorite part of golf is just being able to go out and play every day
Track and Field
Sophomore Nicole Morse is most excited this track season to improve her PRs and spend time with all her teammates. Nicole pole vaults and he goal for this season is to reach 9’6. “My favorite part of pole vaulting is that it’s different from all of the other events in track because it’s a mental sport as well as physical,” Nicole said. Nicole has been working out and trying hard to get back in shape after tearing her hamstring last summer.
Baseball
Sophomore Jordan Throgmorton is excited for this upcoming baseball season. He is most excited to beat Howell again this year he said. Jordan plays first base, right field and he pitches. “My favorite part about baseball would either be pitching and striking the batter out or throwing the runner out at home from right field,” Jordan said. Jordan believes in order to succeed this year, he needs to work on his pitching to keep his arm from getting hurt again.
