Each year after graduation, FHN students gather in the school for the annual All-Knighter celebration. At the All-Knighter, students can play games, win prizes, eat food, and participate in events.
1. What is your name?
“Kim Clouse.”
2. How long have you been planning the FHN All-Knighter?
“I was in the decorating chair in 2012, and I decided to take on the head All-Knighter chair this year.”
3. Why did you volunteer to help plan the All-Knighter?
“I just think it’s a great event for the class. I just want to do it for the students, really. I’ve been volunteering all of the time, and I just wanted to be a part of it. I t’s fun.”
4. When, where, and how much is the All-Knighter?
“The All-Knighter is $120, and that could be payed by $30 per year. It takes place at the whole lower level of the school. It’s a huge part of graduation because after graduation, that’s when the All-Knighter, and it is a 10:30 pm to 5:30 am event.”
5. How do you raise money for the All-Knighter?
“We are doing all kinds of fundraisers this year: restaurants, the snack table at lunches, the craft fair, the book fair, and a test drive at St. Clair that for every test drive we get $20 per test drive. Every kind of fundraiser we can think of is money that we can get towards entertainment, food, prizes, gifts, and everything else pertaining to the All-Knighter.”
6. What is the planning process like?
“We have to decide on what kind of fundraisers we do first because of course, that’s the money coming in. We have to locate potential businesses that will donate money to gifts or gift cards. We have to plan out the t-shirts, and make sure we have security there and plenty of staff. We have a decorating committee who work on setting the theme and then we have to start deciding on what we have to purchase within our budget for decorating.”
7. Why do you think students should attend the All-Knighter?
“Kids can be kids for one night and everybody gets along. It’s a really good last-minute grouping before [seniors] leave that’s a safe drug and alcohol-free environment and the parents put a lot of time and effort to make sure it’s a good experience for the senior class.”
8. What are you most excited about this year and why?
“I just think that having wonderful students that can offer so much in the next adventure they do, the sky’s the limit you guys can do anything so that is the neatest thing to see what everybody comes up with where they’re gonna go next.”
9. What is the All-Knighter like? What kind of activities can students participate in?
“There’s games and prizes, and people that come in and entertain. We have photo polls and stuff like that, but the rest is a surprise.”
10. Do you have any suggestions to students attending the All-Knighter, and if so, why do you suggest that?
“Have fun and enjoy. It’s just a really good time, we just want them to have fun, that’s our biggest goal. It’s for the kids, so we work toward having fun. It’s just a way at saying good luck on whatever adventure they all go on.”
