Junior Delegates have been planning this years prom since the middle of December.
“Planning prom has been really fun but also kind of stressful,” Junior Class President Carl Treas said. “I’m really excited to see how it turns out.”
Earlier in the year, the delegates had the junior and senior classes vote on which theme they would like prom to be based around this year, with some of those themes including “Arabian Paradise” and “Alice in Wonderland.” The most voted prom theme for this year was “Party at Gatsby’s,” based around the book, “The Great Gatsby.”
“I think the theme is awesome,” Treas said. “It’s become quite popular since the release of the movie, and if it had been used before the movie, less people would have known what ‘The Great Gatsby’ was about.”
Tickets will go back on sale the beginning of April for $60, and will be raised to $70 the following and last week that they will be sold. Tickets will be sold in the hallway by the commons next to the snack table.
“I think people are looking forward to it,” senior Kaitlin Eifert said. “As for me, I’m also just really looking forward to having a blast with my friends one last time before graduation.”
