ProjectUnbreakable is more of a serious blog, their goal is to increase awareness of the issues surrounding sexual assault, while
encouraging healing through art. This blog was created in 2011 by nineteen year old Grace Brown. Since then, ProjectUnbreakable has been featured on media outlets such as Glamour, TIME, Buzzfeed and The Guardian.
The types of subjects discussed on the blog are not only important but also very real, Brown photographs victims with signs that have quotes from their attackers on written on them. Some examples are: “If you tell anyone, you will be in just as much trouble as I am.” and “You were asking for it.” these types of incidents don’t just happen to women though, there are men with their quotes on here too. Sexual assault can happen to anyone, from people you would least expect. That’s why ProjectUnbreakable makes it their top priority to not only spread awareness but also help survivors heal.
Sexual assault is a sensitive topic in general and that’s why the blog may not post as much as other tumblr blogs. The tag their posts with phrases such as Trigger Warning and Rape so that if people have those tags blacklisted, they won’t see the post.
ProjectUnbreakable makes it very clear that they are not certified to give guidance or help for those who have been through something among the nature discussed on the blog, which is why they link countless hotlines and websites in which can provide someone with help.
Anyone can help with their organization through donation or even buying merchandise.
