On March 30, the St. Louis Attack arena football team played their first home game at the Family Arena against the Georgia Rampage. The Attack
won by a score of 46-34 and had six forced turnovers and only allowed 10 points in the first half.
“I thought it went good for our first game have some things to work on but a victory is a victory,” CEO and team owner Andrew Haines said.
To start the game the Attack intercepted the first pass of the game (a turnover results as one point in arena football). To start the second half, the Attack scored off a kick return for a touchdown. The game came down to the final play of the game when the X-ball came out (a red football that results in double points in the last minute of the halves), and the Attack Defensive back DeMarcus Simons intercepted the pass in the end zone on fourth down to save the game.
“It was exciting I know it had the fans on there feet definitely a big play,” Haines said.
The Attack will play the Alabama Outlawz in Alabama on April 4, The Outlaws are first in the league with one last minute win over Rampage on March 3.
“The goal is to win a championship anything less is a failure,” Haines said.
