On Aug. 16, over 20 clubs and sports gathered in the football stadium for Black and Gold Day. The stadium was full of different activities. Girls tennis sold Grandma’s cookies and had a water balloon game, and the marching band sold snocones. Other activities included the annual parade of athletes, along with soccer and football scrimmages. The Knightpride Marching Band also debuted their 2014-2015 show called ‘Trapped’.
“It was bittersweet,” Said senior trumpet player Abby Hinman. “Because as a senior, its my last Black and Gold day performance and it marks the beginning of an important and defining part of my high school career.”
In between the band performance and the Knightline routine the football players held a hot dog eating contest. The first to eat 10 hotdogs was senior AJ Lozada. Black and Gold Day kicks off the fall sports season. The first football game will be on Friday, Aug 22 at home against Vianney. (photos by ashleigh jenkins)
