On August 22, the Francis Howell North Knights Varsity football team played their first home game. The Knights played against the Vianney Griffins. The Knights lost to the Griffins 42-13. Vianney scored the first touchdown in the first quarter. The Knights first scored in the 3rd quarter.
“It sucks that we lost but I’m excited to play more games,” said junior Moe Hill.
The Knights scored twice but only got one extra point when they scored their second touchdown. The Knightpride Marching Band and color guard performed at half-time as well as the Varsity Knightline and Cheerleaders.At half-time it was also announced that the Knights had raised over $700 for the ALS Association. Money was raised through a hat day on Friday and a raffle for the privilege of dunking principal Andy Downs in ice water. Junior Jailian Thomas won the raffle and dunked Downs and half-time. The Knightpride marching band made a sizable donation to the fund.
“I think we could have played better but we did well,” said junior A’keal Slaughter.
