On Sept. 4 all of the Howell band students came together to watch each other’s shows. They do this because they don’t always get to see each others shows when they are competing against each other or they don’t compete at the same competitions. It is a nice, relaxed environment where they can watch each other, stress and judge free.
“By the end of the night, I hope the students are able to reflect on their performances and make improvements, ” band teacher Jeff Moorman said. “I mostly want the North band students to be able to see how good they have it here, compared to some of the other school bands.”
Band practices four days a week, from 2:45 p.m.to 5 p.m. Last week practice was cancelled due to the lack of stadium time. They needed to practice in the stadium this week so they could get a better feel of how it will actually feel when performing.
“I was very nervous at first, this being my freshman year,” Marching Band member Christian Witte said. “But then as soon as we stepped onto the field, the band came together as one and it was a fun time.”
