After Francis Howell North’s loss to Francis Howell, the Knight’s plan to defeat the Francis Howell Central Spartans at Centrals homecoming game this
Friday at 7 p.m.
“There is a rivalry because it is one of our sister schools and whoever wins gets bragging rights,” varsity offensive tackle A.J. Lozada said.
On Sept.12, the Knights played Francis Howell and for the Knights first sister game it ended with the Vikings defeating the Knights in a blowout 40-0.
“The rivalry does not affect the coaches but it does affect the kids for the they are playing their neighboring friends and it would be good to come back years later to say that they beat them,” varsity coach Brandon Gregory said.
Tonight will be Central’s homecoming game but that won’t stop the Knights from Central defeat in this game.
“The deciding factor in tonights game is going to be our ability to make plays”, varsity wide receiver Jake Viehman said. “If we just do our jobs and do what we’ve been taught, we’ll be able to come away with a win.”
In this game, the team will keep their same strategies but attempt to play harder than their opponent and go out and make plays to defeat the Spartans. Lozada is the captain of the team and expects to step into his role as captain and play the game he knows and Gregory knows he can play as well as his teammates.
“Me being a captain he expects me to step into a roll as a leader and execute my job and also to get the rest of the team going when we are slacking off,” Lozada said.
