The Francis Howell North Drama Club is performing the annual fall play on Nov. 20-22 in the auditorium. According to Junior Megan Thielbar, the play “Bad Seed” by Maxwell Anderson focuses on a little girl who is said to be born without a conscience which leads her to do terrible things to other people at her own gain, while appearing perfectly pleasant to everyone around her.
“I’m excited about the plot of the play. It’s kind of creepy and twisted, and it really gets you thinking sometimes,” Thielbar said.
With rehearsal almost everyday after school, the members of the Drama Club have spent many hours preparing for the play and are planning on practicing more over fall break. The crew is also preparing by constructing the set and getting things ready for November. According to junior Marissa Meyers they have also practiced a lot of blocking, character development, and lines.
“I am most excited about how twisted the play is. It’s so not what you would think. There’s a major turn of events through out and all of the characters are quite distinct and hard to figure out,” Meyers said.
After the play, the Drama Club will be headed to the Missouri State Thespian Conference in Kansas City in January, 20 students from drama club will be going to attend workshops and compete in the conference activities.
