Hotspots, which are easy internet access points, were made available to students and families at FHN who do not have internet access at home on Oct. 9. Students can check out these hotspots in the learning commons.
“It’s a good thing to help students out that don’t have access to internet or computers at home,” Media Specialist Angie Davis said.
Hotspots can be used to connect to the internet and students can use them to do school work or for their own personal use. One of the intentions of this is so students that don’t have internet access at home can have access to it for things they need it for such as school work.
“I think most of the time people will do their school work,” Davis said. “I think they’ll also want access to other things online that are just for them, not school related.”
Laptops will also be available to check out from the learning commons soon. Davis is told that the laptops are coming soon, but she is not in control of that. Students will soon be able to check out these laptops and use them for their own personal use.
“My favorite part of it is that kids who didn’t have access are going to,” Davis said.
