Recently, FHN had another new addition to the commons, new fountain drink machines. This new change is somewhat of a stark contrast to the recent changes to the commons and snack table, which were an attempt at making food options at school healthier. Never the less, the new soda machines have received a lot of positive feedback from the student body.
“It’s something special for the kids to buy,” Sodexo employee Lavonne Losciuto.
Many of the options from the fountain machine are the same options in the vending machines located just outside the commons and around the school. They offer Vitamin water, diet Coke, Minute Maid lemonade, Diet Sprite, and Diet Dr. Pepper. Prices include $1.00 for a 20 oz. cup, $.75 for a 12 oz. cup, or $.50 for a 12 oz cup with a combo meal.
“It gives students better options to choose from for drinks ,” junior Theresa Blase said.
Having a wider variety of soda choices in the commons allows students to be picky about what they want to drink everyday at lunch.
“The soda machines in the lunch room are awesome because there is more variety in the drinks you can get,” said junior Cora Harms.
The new soda machines are located in the Commons, right next to the creations and taco line.
