The FHN boys Varsity soccer season has officially ended. Many of the boys were very pleased with their outcome . According to the players at the beginning of their season they noticed that it was difficult to play as a team. They had many obstacles to overcome as well as many new and returning players.
“At the beginning of the year there was a lot of yelling and bickering at practice, but as the year progressed, there was no negativity between the players which gave us the opportunity to grow and become a better team all round,” senior Andrew Meyer said.
“Putting that behind us and focusing on the season is what led to our success on the field.”
The boys practice everyday to improve their skills for their big games. Not only did they incorporate what they learned from their practices but they also learned from their mistakes they made in their games.
“We are strong skillwise and with talent, but weaker in the physical side because we weren’t in the best shape at the beginning of the season.” said senior Ethan Hussy.
As the season came to an end the players all agree that they are happy with the outcome of their season as a team.
“I thought the season was very positive. The boys became very close as the season went on, we worked together better causing us to play longer periods of good soccer and more constant throughout our games. We made lots of good decisions as well as bad, but overall I am happy with the outcome.” said Coach Larry Scheller.
