On Dec. 15 marked the girls swimming teams third meet of the season. The girls competed at the Rec Plex against Fort Zumwalt West.
The one and only diver, Dominique Meyer, qualified for state for the fourth time. She is motivated and ready to head to state for
the last time in her high school career.
“Qualifying for state again is awesome and I hope I do my best yet because its my last time going,” Meyer said.
The team had different girls compete in the various races in different lanes. The 200 medley relay in lane three was done by Maggie Torbeck in swimming back stroke, Anna Lindquist swimming breaststroke, Kyleigh MacMann swimming free, and Elizabeth Stallings swimming fly. In lane five, Abigail Coffman swam back stroke, Kira Stock swam breaststroke, Claire Boenitz swam fly, and Jessica Venegoni swan free.
“This meet was a challenge because it gave all the swimmers another opportunity to better their personal times in hopes to qualify for state,” junior Samantha Heupel said.
Lane three ended up winning for FHN. The team hopes to do better at the next meet which is Dec. 17 at 8:30pm against Francis Howell Central.
“I think the next meet will be great, We’ll be able to let out stress from finals and really give it our all,” Heupel said.
