Students for FHN sponsored a change war for the “Wrap a Bottom” campaign helps raise money for families who can’t afford new diapers for their babies. The change war started on Dec. 8
and ended on Dec. 12. Interested students can still donate diapers at Harvester Christian Church. The change war brought in about $200 for the charity effort.
“’Wrap a Bottom” is a way to collect diapers for people that cannot afford them,” senior Hannah Wilson said. “One in three moms cannot afford diapers for their kids, so the change war is a good way to raise money to provide the diapers.”
Students for FHN is a new club that was started this year that promotes student unity, here at school. Recently the club has been participating in a new program called “No Place for Hate.” Students typically can catch them at lunches or holding doors open for students on “Friendly Fridays.”
“The Students for FHN club is a good way to allow students at our school to express their ideas and make a difference,” Wilson said.
Students for FHN just recently held an event called “No Place for Hate,” where students signed a resolution during lunch pledging to respect one another, and in return students received purple bracelets. Because of the club’s principles of respect toward everyone and unity, Students for FHN decided to sponsor the “Wrap a Bottom” campaign. With the holidays in full swing, the diaper donations play a crucial role in helping needy families.
“The holidays are a good time to focus on others, and I’m glad Students for FHN chose to partner with the Wrap a Bottom campaign,” sponsor of Students for FHN Erin Steep said.
