Day 1: Christmas Season Announcements

Welcome back, everybody! This Christmas season has certainly been filled with a large amount of music news, from engagements to sexual harassment allegations.

Let’s start with the bad news. Jake Mcelfresh of the increasingly popular acoustic band Front Porch Step is being accused of sexually harassing girls aged 13 to 14 through text messages. These allegations have gotten so much attention that a petition to get Front Porch Step kicked off of the lineup for Vans Warped Tour 2015. The petition currently has 12,550 signers, but Mcelfresh released a statement saying he has cancelled all his upcoming tours until things get figured out.

While this information is upsetting and disturbing, not everything that happened over the Christmas season was bad. One exciting announcement was Hayley Williams’ (Paramore) getting engaged to Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory, What’s Eating Gilbert?). They have been dating for years and he proposed on Christmas day.

One last very exciting and unexpected piece of news was the return of Matchbook Romance. They have been inactive since 2006 and just announced that they have new management and they will be playing one leg of Warped Tour 2015.

It has been a very exciting time in the music scene and I’m looking forward to much more in the coming year.

Day 2: Warped Tour 2015 Lineup Update

Every week, the Vans Warped Tour website has been announcing four to five bands that will be playing this year. I will be updating this blog every week with their announcements.
