On Jan. 21, sophomore students will be heading to the auditorium for class ring distribution information meetings. The students will be going during their English II classes for information on how to order rings and the different styles they can order. Juniors and seniors may also attend this meeting if they want information on the rings.
“I think class rings are super cool,” sophomore, Brandon Bauer said. “They are something people can wear to represent their high school for the rest of their lives.”
Diane Fingers, English teacher and sophomore class sponsor, has been putting in effort to help make the process go smoothly and the best she can for the students. Fingers stated it is a big part in a student’s high school career and it is important to make things go the best way she can.
“This is an important process,” Fingers said. “This will be something that is with you all the time in your future.”
The styles for the ring very from different metals and different designs. Students get to pick how they want their ring to be to make it special for them. The rings can be from just under a hundred dollars to hundreds of dollars. The reason behind distributing the rings during sophomore year are so the students have more time to wear and enjoy their ring.
“For the students, it’s about choosing what is important to them.” Fingers said. “It’s about making it as special as I can for them”
In late April there will be a ceremony during homeroom for sophomores. The students will receive their rings and a breakfast from McDonalds. It is treated almost as a graduation except with receiving a ring and a goodie bag.
“I am really excited to pick out my class ring because I’ve seen my brothers and sisters get excited and wear them throughout their high school years.” sophomore Kenzie Laurent said. “Also, I am ready to get mine because when I’m older, it will bring back so many memories.”
