Wrestling Senior Night:
The first one is something you should’ve watched. On Tuesday, January 27, the wrestling
team faced CBC and Ritenour High Schools. The team lost to CBC 18-54 and tied Ritenour 36-36. This was actually the second to last home meet for the seniors as well as Coach Ritchie, who will retire at the end of the season. While the size of the team is small, the coach hopes to send as many wrestlers to state as possible. Leading that charge is senior Sam Ritchie who hopes to again qualify for state as he has done the last two years. The video of the match can be seen below. Click here for a story recaping the match.
Boys Basketball Fort Zumwalt North Tournament:
This week the Boys Basketball team is participating in the Fort Zumwalt North Tournament. FHN won its first game on Monday against Hannibal. The Knights beat the Pirates by a score of 55-52 on Monday. Their next game will be against the host of the tournament Fort Zumwalt North on Wednesday. The Knights are 7-8 so far in the regular season, coming off 62-41 loss at Francis Howell before this tournament. They bounced back with the close win against Hannibal, and are looking to create a winning streak against the Panthers. The Panthers are lead by Zach Glotta who averages 20.4 points per game. Howell North is lead by leading scorers Gabe Grote and Elliot Montgomery who both average 10.8 points per game.
Girls Swimming FZN/ FHC Tri-meet:
On Thursday, January 29, the girls swim team will participate in a tri-meet against Fort Zumwalt North, and Francis Howell Central. They are coming off win against Fort Zumwalt North on Wednesday. Try something new and go watch this surprisingly entertaining sport instead of sitting on your couch and watching Netflix.
