On Thursday, Sept. 10, 4 FHN students were named 2014 National Merit Semifinalists. Seniors Tim Xiang, Daniel Bodden, Emily Coonrad, and Adam Cole were all
named Semifinalists. Students qualify as Semifinalists based on their scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Today, those same 4 students were named National Merit Finalists, having been chosen from the previous semifinalist pool. Only 15,000 students nation-wide are named Finalists, which means they qualify for the National Merit Scholarships.
