Girl’s Basketball is nearing an end, and this Friday, February 27, the Lady Knights will be playing their senior night game. The team is scheduled to play a home game against St. Charles West, who they have only played in a scrimmage at the beginning of their season. Senior night is the last regular season games, and will celebrate the three seniors on the team, Madison Kelly, Sierra Teuscher, and Cynthia Cahall. All three seniors have been playing basketball for the Lady Knights for four years.
“The focus of this season has been learning to stick together, and playing as a team, rather than as individuals,” said senior Madison Kelly. “If we stick together well, we should be able to pull off a win.”
The girls were able to win their game on senior night last year, and hope to have the same result this year. Throughout the season, they have been working to play consistently as a team, and also getting used to the new coach, Jamal Thompson, and his coaching style.
“Senior night last year was very exciting, but also a sad reminder that the seniors were leaving,” said senior Sierra Teuscher. “I will miss the after school practices, the bus rides for away games, and the friendships I have built.”
Coach Dawn Hahn has watched the players grow throughout this season, and hopes to see the team continue to play with good chemistry, and work together on Friday.
“The seniors have been a big part in us having a good chemistry, and they will be leaving big shoes to be filled,” said Hahn.
