The Lady Knights basketball season came to an end Monday night after losing the the Fort Zumwalt North in the first round of districts, 53-27. Austine Pauley carried the team with 15 points. The Knights struggled to get anything started throughout the game and Zumwalt North took advantage. This wasn’t the outcome that new head coach, Jamal Thompson had hoped for.
“Champions are made in the offseason,” Thompson said, “People may think I’m crazy, but I believe we can make it through next year, That’s how much I believe in these girls.”
This year the team will say goodbye to three seniors and will have five seniors in the 2015-2016 season. The program is hopeful for the future with new freshmen coming in with a bunch of talent.
“ We didn’t always have the outcome we wanted this year, but I think we can get passed it and I am looking forward to see what the freshmen have to offer to the program next season,” junior Austine Pauley said.
