Sunday, March 8 marks the day that FBLA sets off for their annual trip to New York City. They will be staying there for four days and returning on March 11. 41 students
total will be going this year with only 13 students from North and the rest from Howell. Angie Winship and Ashton Sewing will be the two chaperones from FHN.
“It’s a great experience and opportunity to see as much as New York City in a short amount of time for the least amount of money as you can” FBLA sponsor Angie Winship said.
During their stay in New York, the group will be sleeping at the Doubletree Hotel where there is a great view of the skyline of the city. They will be touring with a company called Junior Tours. Junior Tours will guide them around the Big Apple on a private coach bus and bring them to visit places like Times Square, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building.
“I decided to go because all my friends are going and it sounds like a great opportunity that doesn’t come around very often” senior Kelsey Schwenck said.
Every expense in the trip is included. Students will only have to spend extra money on lunches or additional shopping. Breakfast, transportation and dinner is included along with admission to the Empire State Building and the Broadway show “Aladdin”.
“I can’t wait to go shopping, especially on Fifth Avenue, and to see the Broadway show” Winship said.
While in New York, the students will also have the extra time to go to Carlo’s Bakery, Central Park and may even appear on TV on the “NBC Today Show”
“I’m so excited for the trip, to make great new friends, see the city and hopefully have an unforgettable time” junior Anthony Lupo said.
