With the class of 2015 leaving, the underclassmen have the opportunity to kiss a senior goodbye. For only 50 cents, an underclassman can send four Hershey kisses and a letter to any graduating senior. This is the first time in a few years that people have been able to send senior kisses to graduating seniors.
“The last year they did this was 2012. They just haven’t picked it up in a few years,” Senior Class President Alex Weinstock said. “We thought it’d be a good idea. It’s a really cool way to send off the seniors.”
Senior kisses will be on sale during all lunches from May 6 through May 13. The money for the senior kisses will be going towards things like the senior class’s graduation ceremony and the All Knighter.
Freshman, sophomores, and juniors have already been purchasing senior kisses to send, with more planning to do the same.
“I think it’s really cool. It’s something special to give to the seniors as they leave,” said Junior Delaney Chapman. “It’s a really cool way for me to do something for my friends when they graduate.”
Seniors are also appriciative of their chance to recieve a senior kiss from their peers.
“I think it’s cool how a friend of yours can tell you ‘hey good luck with college’ or something like that,” senior Ian Broeder saud.
