On Sept. 4 the varsitry Knights lost to the Bulldogs with a score of 21-22. The Knights were in the lead up until the 30 second mark in the fourth quarter. The first quarter ended with a score of 7-6 as well as the second quarter. The third quarter ended with a score of 14-6. “I thought we were able to shut down their run and pass on defense for a while, and on offense were were able to move the ball fairly well,” captain Kyle Springli said, “we need to learn from our mistakes this week to prepare for our next game.” The first touch down of the game was score by number seven Donell Hawkins. The second touch down was scored by Blake Lodde with assistance from Connor Gallagher. “I think the guys did really good, and they tried really hard, and they were so close. It was just a few plays that might have thrown them off, but I’m sure we will get Howell next week,” said senior cheerleader Karley McCarthy. The Knights next game will be away at Francis Howell High. (photos by riley mccrackin, emily floyd, and lauren price).
