On Wednesday, Sept. 16,the annual Powderpuff game where the junior and senior girls battle in a game of flag football was competitive once again. The FHN stadium was packed to see if the juniors would beat the seniors. Last year, the juniors beat the seniors for the first time since 2008. The juniors and seniors played hard, but it would be the seniors who took home the trophy. The seniors beat the juniors 147-70.
“I feel like we could’ve played better, but I appreciate the girls’ time and effort they put in the past couple weeks,” junior coach Ryan Gordon said.
There were smiles from both sides of the field, even though the seniors won. Many of the juniors expressed that they were just happy they got to play that year.
Junior Haley Bradt said, “It was fun and we won in our hearts!”
One of the other main parts of Powderpuff is the crowd pleasers. The boys got to cheer on the ladies from the sidelines. This year there were 16 crowd pleasers, all dressed up in ridiculous, entertaining outfits.
Senior Madi Oostendorp said, “It was super competitive this year, but that made it more exciting!”. Senior Lauren Bartram thought the MVP on the senior team was Austine Pauley.
