Car of the Week: Nissan 370Z

By Martin Groves

Welcome to a new series on FHNtoday known as FHN’s Car of the Week. Every week, an interesting car owned by a student at FHN will be featured on the website.

This first edition of Car of the Week features senior Kush Patel’s 2014 Nissan 370Z.

“I got the car last November on my birthday,” Patel said.

With a 3.7L V6 engine, the 370Z accelerates from 0-60mph in 4.6 seconds, and has an estimated top speed of 155mph. The car really comes into its own on winding roads, where its low center of gravity and lightness allows it to be thrown into corners at high speeds, then accelerate away on the straightaways.

Typically, car enthusiasts like to modify their cars and personalize them. “So far I have a custom exhaust, but there’s much more to come,” Patel said, “I’d like to focus on cosmetics, because I already have enough power. I want to personalize it, make it unique, make it different to other black 370Z’s in the area.”

“I love my car. Honestly, I’m more of a luxury type, but it’s a nice quick car,” Patel said.
