The varsity Knights lost against FZW at a home game on Oct. 9 with a final score of 14-44. The first quarter ended with a score of 0-13, the second quarter ended with a score of 6-19, and the third quarter ended with a score of 6-31

“I thought we left a lot on the field. We could have done a lot better execution, and we’re a lot of guys down. We just have to look forward to next week,” senior Nick Gehricke said. “We have to execute what we have on paper. We have a lot of good plays drawn up, we just have to be able to do what we know we can do, and execute.”

This was also the Pink Ribbon game for North. The half time performance also had some special guest with the Knightline clinic performing alongside the varsity girls.

Senior captain Blake Lodde scored the first touchdown of the night towards the end of the second quarter. This was also followed by the second touchdown, scored by senior Najee Follin, during the fourth quarter. Freshman Maurice Massey ran a two point conversion in the fourth quarter as well.

“The team did not play very well. We didn’t execute the game plans that were laid out in front of us, and that cause a lot of big plays to happen for their offense. We got behind quick, and our offense didn’t really do anything to help our defense,” senior Joshua Cage said. “For the last home game it’s just game plan, game plan, game plan. Everybody has to stick to their assignments, that our coaches implemented. If they stick to those assignments we can win games.”

The Knights next game will be their senior night on Oct. 16.
