On Saturday October 24, Knightpride marching band will be competing at the Francis Howell Viking Invitational. This will be their seventh and final competition of the season.
“This year, the Howell competition is going to be really cool because it’s our last one of the season,” junior Knightpride member Sean Rhomberg said. “It’s going to be a great chance for us to finish off the season on a really good note.”
This season, Knightpride has won countless awards for their show entitled The Good Wife’s Guide. They have received awards for outstanding percussion, auxiliary, and visual as well as a crowd appeal award.
“This season our show is a lot happier and the group is much younger,” Drum Major Aaliyeh Habibi said. “I’m really proud of how far we’ve grown as an ensemble throughout the season.”
Their season began with at Francis Howell High School at the Howell Preview. Here, all three high schools in the Francis Howell School District performed their new shows for each other. This was held after school on Thursday August 27.
“Everybody loves this competition because it’s close to home and we get to compete against a lot of schools,” Rhomberg said. “The atmosphere of this competition is usually very laid back. It’s also really cool that we get to end where we started. Our last run will feel so nostalgic remembering the first time we stepped onto that same field two months ago.”
