Each day, Ke’Dar Gates fills his free time by playing a few games of checkers after 4th hour, where he should be at work for the work program. His checkers skill has been obtained from all the time he spends challenging others, leading him to an outstanding record. He faces the challenge of being in the work program without a license or a car, but that may soon change since his birthday has come around.
