Music Weekly Featuring Galantis

By Tristan Chenoweth

Welcome to week two.

This week I am featuring one of my favorite artists Galantis. The group is based out of Stockholm, Sweden and their music features one lead vocalist for each song and her melodic chordal progressions.

First Track Gold Dust:

This track features a lead vocalist with melodic accompaniments, syncopated lead rhythms and relies heavy on electronic influences. It is one of my favorite songs because of its catchy beat and simplistic vocals.

Second Track: Firebird

This is another one of my favorites featuring an electronically enhanced lead vocalist, minimalistic introduction that allow the vocalist to lead into the main chorus. It is also what I consider my “theme song” when I need a pick me up.

Third Track: Call If You Need Me

This track features a simple message that life is hard. It features the unmistakable sound of African steel drums and electronic influences. I picked this track because nothing is easy in life and you always have someone to talk to and you shouldn’t be afraid to do so.

Fourth Track: Dancin’ To The Sound Of  A Broken Heart

This track features a heartbeat entrance and a melodic chord progression that leads into the main chorus with a minimal background music line.

Fifth Track: Louder Harder Better

I chose this track because it is a motivational song to me. It starts off with a subtle piano and vocal intro and gives headway to electronically produced sounds and melodic chord progressions.
