The eighth annual Iron Chef competition was held at North on Nov. 17. FHN won first place with a score of 106 along with the Chef’s Choice Award given by Carl McConnell the executive chef at Stone Soup Cottage in Cottleville.

“I think we had great chemistry and were able to work together and have each others back”, Antwan Gardner said. “It’s not “I”, it’s “we”. It’s great being able to achieve what we wanted to.”

Union won second place with a score of 105, Howell won third place with a score of 104, and Central placed fourth with a score of 90.

“They did amazing”, Mrs. Just said. “They worked really well together, and they brought their
game.”

The theme this year was Asian Fusion. North’s dished consisted of a slide with coleslaw, macaroni and cheese, and their own version of a banana split. This year’s secret ingredient for North was apples, which they incorporated into their dessert.

“I liked the macaroni because it had a good Asian twist to it.”, Connor Lucas Said.
