Finals Quickly Approaching as Semester Comes to an End
Published: November 30, 2015
It’s that time of year; getting ready for the holidays and what everyone has been waiting for: FINALS. Preparing for finals can be very stressful, but FHN has math tutoring before and after school to prepare. FHN mentors will be hosting a Cocoa & Cram Study session on Monday, December 14 in the commons. They will be having cookies and cocoa from 2:30-3 p.m. followed by a study session from 3-5 p.m. for freshmen to get help from the mentors and their peers to prepare for exams. For those that aren’t freshmen, here are a few tips on how to prepare for finals.
1. Get some rest. Your brain needs to rest. It has a lot of remembering and thinking to do, getting rest will help you study efficiently.
2. Be very prepared. Look at multiple review sheets and notes for each subject. Don’t rely on just one review guide. You might get to the exam and some questions may not have anything to do with what was on the review packet.
3. Don’t study cram. Don’t start studying for finals one or two days before. You will forget what you just put back into your brain. Start studying one to two weeks before your final.
4. Take little breaks. Study for one final at a time and then take a break; go for a walk, listen to music, anything that relaxes you. It releases stress, and will make you concentrate more.
5. Don’t Stress. Think positive. You can do this. You are almost done with this semester, there is a light at the end of the tunnel of long exams. If you don’t stress about it and think positive, you are more likely to do better.
