On Dec. 7, FHN held the last of the 11 meetings in search for a new superintendent in the auditorium.
Judy Sclair-Stein from McPhenerson and Jacobson and Pam Sloan’s assistant, Laura, ran the meeting. Sclair-Stein’s firm was hired by the Board of Education to find candidates for the position. Sclair-Stein asked the 15 people that showed up 4 questions about the community, the school district, qualities that are wanted in the new superintendent, and some issues the new superintendent should know about.
There is no set date for when the new superintendent will be announced but the Board of Education hopes to know by Feb. 4.
Applicants can apply for the position at http://www.macnjake.com/. Applications will no longer be accepted on Jan. 7. McPherson and Jacobson will then go through a long process of reviewing the applications and then will show the Board of Education what they found. The Board will then make their decision.
