This week’s throwback, courtesy of yours truly, comes from the ’80s. This was Phil Collins’ first solo track after leaving Genesis. The ’80s saw the end of the disco era and the beginning of the dance new wave and thrash metal era.

“In The Air Tonight” is a smooth rock song that put Phil Collins on the map as a solo artist. Its minimal musical line allows the harmonized vocals to really stand out and give the song a simple yet powerful feel.
