Car Talk: Five Things Not to Buy for Christmas

With it being December, it seems like a good time to start talking about Christmas. Here’s a list of five automotive-themed things you should not buy for Christmas.

  1. Fuzzy Dice – It may have been remotely trendy many years ago among soccer moms and grandmothers, but it’s not anymore. When was the last time you saw a car with two big fuzzy things hanging from the rear view mirror, swinging side to side? They are not trendy anymore, they are just plain annoying.
  2. Bumper Stickers – Bumper stickers look ridiculous on cars, especially stupid ones or those meant to be funny. Drivers that put them on their cars are oblivious to how off-putting giant stickers on the back of cars look.
  3. Leopard Skinned Steering Wheel Covers – Ordinary steering wheel covers are already bad enough, but leopard skinned covers are just ridiculous. Not only do they make the interior look like a joke, but because they’re not firmly attached to the wheel, they could slip, potentially causing an accident.
  4. Flame Decals – A full-body flame paint job on a hot-rod looks good, but $20 ‘universal fit’ flame decals from Walmart have the exact opposite effect. They look absurd.
  5. Neon Lights – There’s a reason you don’t see these around anymore. They are pointless and look completely ridiculous.
