On Friday Dec. 18, the Varsity Lady Knights faced off against the Francis Howell Central Spartans. The Lady Knights defeated FHC with a score of 53-41. The main highlight of the game was senior Austine Pauley scored her 1,000 career point in her high school career.
“They have improved since their first game. They have been working a lot in practice on just obviously getting their shots in so they’ve been making a lot more points since the beginning of the season. They’ve also been working on trying to foul less,” senior Mallory Schaffrin, who is the varsity manager, said.
The score at the end of the 1st period was 17-15 with the Lady Knights in the lead. The score at the end of the 2nd period was 27-26 with the Lady Knights in the lead. The score at the end of the 3rd period was 43-29 with the Lady Knights finally rushing way ahead of the Trojans.
“We were so excited when Austine Pauley got 1,000 points because we had been waiting for it all season and she hadn’t been getting many points and this game she actually got 31 which is the record for a girl to get in a game at all” Schaffrin said.
