On Jan. 29, FHN HOSA hosted the annual blood drive. “I chose to give blood today because i like helping others any chance that I get,” said junior Ashley Askew. About 270 people signed up to donate. Over 200 students and teachers were able to donate blood. “I liked how nice everyone was and I felt like I was making a difference,” Said junior Jake Oppenborn. HOSA helped out by checking in donors, handing out snacks, and comforting the donors. “My favorite part about the drive was knowing that I helped someone out,” Said senior Sarah Garrelts. “It’s weird to think that someone else is going to have my blood in their body.” (photos by: Hannah Medlin, Madi Graves, Kristen Pike)
