All Knighter Hosts Prom Dress Resale

The All Knighter committee is hosting a prom dress resale on Feb. 27. It will be in the Commons from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We were just looking for fun and looking to raise money for the All Knighter,” Kristine Vanek, who came up with the idea, said.
On Feb. 26, people can bring in their old prom party or homecoming dresses. Whoever would bring one in would get 70% of the profit and the All Knighter would get 30%. It is open to anyone who wants to donate.
“I don’t know anything about it but I was really interested in it cause a good price for a dress,” senior Leah Tharp said.
The idea came from a friend of Vanek’s in Kentucky. A soccer team down there also had to raise some money, and they did the same thing and came out successful, so they thought they would give it a try.
“I think that’s a good idea because prom dresses are expensive,” said former FHN student Rachel Rotter. “Looking good is not cheap.”
The most stressful part for the committee is getting donations and trying to spread the word about it. It was a last minute thing that they pulled together.
“I’ve been very excited and a little nervous because it’s never been done,” Vanek said. “We’ve all had great ideas on how to make it work. It’s exciting.”
