Car Talk: STL PDX
Published: February 27, 2016
The Saint Louis division of the 2016 PDX Series is hosted by the Sports Car Club of America, otherwise known as the SCCA. A PDX event is an opportunity to work with a professional driving instructor, racing your own car around a local racetrack. While a PDX is a not a competitive or timed event, drivers would be grouped by experience. These groups would then take turn driving on the track.
Most of the cars that participate in PDX events are slightly modified street cars, driven by people with little to no experience. The main attraction of signing up for a PDX event is having someone who has racing experience – an SCCA club racing driver – sitting in the front seat coaching you through each turn on the track.
For 2016, the event will be hosted at the Gateway Motorsports Park in Illinois. Registration for an STL PDX event costs $160 and includes four twenty minute sessions with an instructor around the race track.
