Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Atlanta Hawks Game 4
Published: May 12, 2016
The Cleveland Cavaliers faced off against the Atlanta Hawks in game four of the Eastern Conference semi-finals on May 8, 2016. With the Cavaliers up 3-0 in the series the Hawks were desperately fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive, but the Cavs had other plans. Lebron James and Kevin Love seemed to be in perfect sync during the game with Love making 8 three pointers in the game with most of the assists coming from James.
“Flat out amazing shooting performance by the Cavs,” sophomore Brandon Sauerbrey said.
It was close the whole game, but their captain, James helped the Cavs stay ahead most of the time. The Cavaliers had some difficulty guarding Paul Millsap and Al Horford, surprisingly they had trouble guarding backup point guard dennis schroder who was keeping the game close late in the game.
Schroder scored 21 points, 13 of those points came in the fourth quarter. The Cavs big three in Lebron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love scored a total of 69 points combined in game four with Love scoring 27, and Irving and James both adding 21 each.
“Ball movement makes them a better team in every way,” Owen Cumberland said.
With the victory, the Cavs players will get more rest as they wait for the rest of the teams to finish the 2nd round. This is the second year in a row that the Hawks were eliminated by the Cavaliers and now the Cavs just have to wait and see the outcome of the Toronto Raptors vs. Miami Heat (his former team) to see who they face next.
Their series is currently tied at 2-2 with a Miami win on May 9, 2016. The Cavaliers lost to the Heat 3 times this season and beat the Raptors every time except one so the Cavs would much rather face the Raptors to have a better chance at winning the title. If the series goes to game 7 then the Cavs will find out who their next opponent is by Sunday, May 15, 2016.
