On Sept. 6, the JV Knights football team battled against the FZS Bulldogs. The Knights lost with a score of 14-32. The game was long fought due to the Bulldogs scoring the first touchdown with 30 seconds left in the 2nd quarter.
“I feel like they could’ve put more work in it,” sophomore Daviona Bonner said. “The defense needed to be better and at the side needed to pay more attention”.
The Bulldogs also scored the 2nd touchdown of the game with 4 seconds left in the 2nd quarter, which made it 0-13. The Knights finally got on the board in the 3rd quarter, but the Bulldogs came back to make it 7-19. Although the Knights were really close to scoring again in the last couple of seconds, the score remained 14-32.
“They hung in there,” coach Sam Davis said. “They never stopped fighting. We have a young staff, so we are all just trying to get acclimated to the offense.”
Coach Sam Davis stressed that their next game will have a focus on execution. The Knights record right now is 0-2. Their next home game is on 9/12 against FZW at 6 p.m.
