The Fangirl Life: Henry Cavill
Published: September 14, 2016
Henry Cavill is an actor who’s been gaining traction since the release of Man of Steel in 2013, starring in the main role of Superman. More recently, he was in Man From U.N.C.L.E., a remake of the 1960’s show of the same title. This past spring, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice was released, starring Henry as Superman once again. Coming up for him is Sand Castle (coming later this year), Justice League (coming in 2017) and Justice League Part 2 (coming in 2019).
I’ve seen both Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, but I’ve seen part of Man From U.N.C.L.E. The way he portrays his characters is incredibly interesting. Superman (or Clark Kent, if you prefer) is a very different character from an American spy. Superman is humble and cares deeply about justice, but a spy is usually a very ruthless character in nature.
Most people I’ve talked to didn’t like either of the new Superman movies, and it’s always confused me. I feel like he portrays characters very well, but I can see how die hard DC fans would be offended if it didn’t follow the comics or if there are useless plot points. The same thing often happens in other superhero movies.
