C-team football is playing on Sep. 26 against their rival team FHC. The Knights have a 2-3 record for this current school year, and they hope to win this game that will be played at Central. The boys have been practicing everyday after school to prepare physically and mentally to win this upcoming game.
“I think I will do well because of the adjustments we have made at practice and I hope they will pay off,” freshmen Patrick Koester said.
Over the past few weeks, the team has been making a lot of changes to their plays as well as preparing mentally to work together and defeat the other team. During practice, they run through plays, go through drills, stretch and go over strategies to use in the game. Head Coach Ryan Darks is preparing his team so they don’t lose another game this season.
“This game is very important to the team and myself, we have to beat our rival team,” said Darks. “We watch film of Central’s varsity and prepare like we will be playing their varsity team.”
The team has to face the fact that two kids blew out their knees and will not be able to play for the remainder of this season. This has made the team step up their game. The team has been working to fix their current plays to make their defense more united and the offense stronger in hopes to score more points. The defense has been doing a lot of blocking drills, and the offense has been going over the routes of the plays they will run.
“I think the game against Central will be one of the best games we will play,” said freshman Cameron Lewis. ‘’Our team has a lot of good players that know how to play as a unit, and that will make a big difference for this game’s outcome.”
